What is a Weight Factor

A ‘Weight Factor’ is metric that helps to calculate the tonnage of material based on how much the material weighs. It references a 1 x 1 x 1 inch volume. It works for both SY and SF areas.

Weight factor is important to know so you know how many tons you will need based on the size of the job and how many trucks to schedule for a job.
